Meetings

The Society currently holds its meetings on an annual basis.

• Our 2008 annual meeting will be held in Akron, Ohio from Thursday, May 29 to Sunday, June 1, 2008.
• The meeting will be held at the Quality Inn Conference Center. A block of fifteen rooms has been set aside for our group. The cost of the rooms is $75.99 plus fees and taxes per night. Cancellations must be made 72 hours in advance to check in or a one night fee will be charged. Free continental breakfast is available. There is a free shuttle from the Akron Canton Airport. Member will need to use the courtesy phone at baggage claim which states Quality Inn Conference Center. (There is another Quality Inn phone which could get you to the wrong place.)
• To make a reservation may call the hotel directly at +1 (330) 644-7126 or you might use the toll free number listed on their website +1 (877) 424-6423. When making the reservation please mention "North American Jules Verne Society" or try our group number 106190. Using the group number you might also be able to do the reservation via their website linked above.

• Host member Dana Eales would like a head count of who (including spouse) is attending what activity. Please fill out this form and return it to Dana at the address listed on the form.

• Meeting begins a 9:00 AM in the main floor of the Conference Center
• Break for lunch at 12:00, Go out for lunch at the local food establishment, from fast food to chain restaurants
• Reconvene meeting at 1:15 PM at the Conference Center
• Leave at 3:30 PM for a tour of the MAPS Air Museum located at 2260 International Parkway, North Canton, OH 44720. There will be a $7.00 charge.
• Leave at 5:30 for dinner at The Hartville Kitchen located at 1015 Edison St NW Hartville, OH 44632.
• Return to the Quality Inn Conference Center

Saturday, May 31, 2008

• Meeting begins a 9:00 AM in the main floor of the Conference Center
• Break for lunch at 12:00, Go out for lunch at the local food establishment, from fast food to chain restaurants.
• Reconvene for annual business meeting at 1:15 PM at the Conference Center
• Leave at the close of the business meeting for dinner at host member Dana Eales’ home.
• Return to the Quality Inn Conference Center
