Meetings

The Society currently holds its meetings on an annual basis.

The 2012 Annual Meeting will be held from Wednesday June 13 through Sunday June 17, 2011. It will be held at location TBD in Marion, North Carolina, USA.

Details are still being worked out and should be available in early March.

The two main events will be the theme of the meeting, and the election of a new officers on the board, where needed.

The latest details as they become available will always be found here.

CALL for PRESENTATIONS

About the theme of the meeting, it will be Master of the World. The novel begins at the Great Eyry, which is in North Carolina. The real Great Eyry is controversial and we will plan excursions to the various sites where the Great Eyry could be. Members Cato Holler and Jean-Michel Margot have different ideas and both will present their arguments at the meeting as intro to the subject.

But, needless to say, every Vernian topic is of interest . . . and Vernians of every nationality! Just ask Jean-Michel Margot to reserve a slot for you . . . presentations should be 20-30 minutes in length.

As you know, NAJVS welcomes Vernians of every bent — educators, collectors, researchers, hobbyists, translators, and explorers . . . not to mention renowned scientists and literary figures who say they couldn’t have done it without Verne!

Please tell Jean-Michel Margot <jmmargot_at_mindspring_dot_com> or +1 (919) 644-7327 if you want to present a paper about Jules Verne and his works. A laptop with a digital projector will be available.

There will be a $TBD conference fee associated with this event.
